Good evening, Keyleth. May I have a moment of your time? 'Tis in regards to the Lover's Garden - I have a few things to say that I believe you may like to hear.
[ Keyleth was in the process of brushing her hair when her tome went off, so when she answered the video the long fall of red was a bit. Poofy. As hair with any natural curl in it is want to be after it's brushed. ]
Oh hi Lioriley! How are you?
[ She BEAMS at the mention of her garden...though when the wording kind of sinks in, that big happy smile turns slowly to fear. ] Oh god, why? What happened? Is someone shouting at the plants again? Did Bacon Luis eat some eucalyptus and puke owlbear pellets all over one of the benches?
I have been well. I apologize for not reaching out sooner - time seems to pass so quickly here without one even realizing it. ( and, also, uh...drama. Took up a lot of her time. Along with, you know, the boyfriend thing.
Which is why she's calling, actually! But before she can think to say as much she's bombarded with the series of odd questions. )
Um...none of that happened, not while I was there at any rate. ( She cleared her throat, her cheeks darkening with a blush. ) I know it may sound odd, given how little we know of one another - but I actually wished to express how grateful I am for you and all your hard work with the garden. It was...it was the place my beloved Astarion, and I, shared our first kiss - there in the vine covered gazebo beside the beautiful pond, under the light of the moon, the flowers glowing in the dark. No words can express how perfect that moment was, and I believe, in a way, I have you to thank for that.
So thank you, Keyleth. What you have created is indescribably beautiful and wholly unforgettable.
[ Keyleth relaxes a teeny bit, though she's still a little concerned until Lior lets her off the tenterhooks, and her smile returns.
Only to fade slowly the more she speaks, replaced by tears filling her eyes, and spilling freely down her cheeks a moment before she ducks her head and tries to swipe them away. SORRY LIOR SHE'S GONNA. NEED A SECOND. OR TWO SHE'S VERY OVERWHELMED. ]
Ah- ( Oh no. What did she say that would have made her cry? Lioriley frowns, uncertain as the other woman ducks her head down and off screen. And it's after a few seconds she finally asks, tentatively: ) Are you alright?
[ Keyleth made a strangled sound that was probably supposed to be "Uh-huh!" and sort of...waved her hand while she tried to compose herself. After a moment or two, she managed to stave off the urge to start sobbing, cleared her throat and swiped quickly at her eyes. ]
Yeah, sorry. I'm fine. I just-- [ She sniffled and managed a watery little smile. ] That's really...really nice to hear. That's the kind of thing, the kind of...happiness I hoped people who have when I started the project. So it's. It's just really nice to hear.
( Come on, Keyleth, don't cry. You'll make her cry. Then Astarion will wonder why she's crying again and it will be a whole big thing! That being said, Lioriley tried to steel her expression, her smile warm, eyes narrowing softly as she regarded the other woman over the tome. )
Well, if that was your intent - then I would say you did a magnificent job. I have a feeling you will insist it not necessary, but between the incident at Samhain and, the garden, I feel as if I owe you something in return. If ever there is anything I can do for you, please do not hesitate to ask.
Oh, no, you don't owe me anything! I mean, if you really wanted to help in the gardens come spring, or during harvest time, there's always something to do. But it's not necessary. Between me, Vax, and the Fillydooks, we manage.
I certainly would not mind aiding you when the time comes, all you need do is ask. And, in the meantime, if you would be amenable to it - perhaps we could simply find some time to sit and talk over tea or whatever your preferred drink of choice is.
...Oh! You mean, like, friends?? [ WOW HER METHOD OF FRIEND-MAKING IS REALLY WORKING LATELY! It's just a little more indirect in Lior's case than it was in Yasha's. ] I love tea and having friends! What kind of tea do you like? I have lots of herbal blends I make myself! Oh and pastries and cookies from the Slayer's Cake! You can come over any time!
Yes, of course. ( Listen. It was a solid method and she should keep at it. Clearly. ) Were I to pick my favorite I would say Lavender or Chamomile, but I am willing to try any blend you may create - so long as there is no strong scent of roses- they make me ill, unfortunately. ( she does not elaborate further. she also just doesn't want to like...gag when trying to have a good time with her new friend, though. )
I will make a point of stopping by soon. Until then?
I actually have one that has both! It's one of my favorite blends! It's lavender and chamomile a touch of lemon verbena and dried lemon peel. I can send some home with you if you like it!
[ She also does a quick check around the room to make sure there's no roses around. There don't seem to be, thankfully! Sometimes she'll druid craft red roses to decorate her circlet, but for the moment it's wreathed in marigolds. ] We're rose free, thankfully! So you know, whenever you have time!
That sounds delightful. I would love to try it. ( Would she have said that about nearly any flavor suggested? Probably. But that didn't mean she wasn't sincere! )
Wonderful. Thank you again, Keyleth. I hope to see you soon.
