I have spoken with a woman who is intent on returning to the place where we all arrived to hide traces of our landing. I offered to sink what we cannot move into the earth, but she is hoping to restore the land as our arrival had caused a great deal of destruction.
My first thought was of you. She seemed very excited to hear there is a druid in our midst. She wishes to speak with you.
Oh! Funny, someone else was talking about that the other day!
But, yeah! I can definitely do that! It would take me the better part of the day. At least eight hours of uninterrupted meditation. But, yeah, I can restore the land, no problem!
oh no! hmmmmm its pretty big like maybe twice the size of my head, and its green with dark stripes and if you cut it open it has red/pink flesh which is really soft and juicy and has black seeds inside and its sooo good you need to have one for summer! I think it grows on a vine??
maybe they call it something different where youre from!
[ He'd been mulling it over for a while and well, why not? He had wanted to know more about Keyleth's world since they started talking so now's a good a time as any right? ]
Good afternoon, Keyleth. I was wondering if I could ask you a few things. About your homeland if that's all right?
Well...yeah. [ There's some apprehension on her part, given how half-elves are often treated in Exandria. It isn't the kind of prejudice that Keyleth has directly experienced, but she saw how much it hurt Vax and Vex. And it would really hurt if one of her only friends here decided she was a dirty half-breed or something. ]
[ It's not the the thought that comes to mind. If anything he begins to wonder more about the relationship of elves and humans in her world. Her question though only earns a vocal shrug. ]
I'm not quite sure. We just know it happens.
Though it's not very common for either race to have children with the other nor is it likely for a child to even be born. And if we did...well...it's never looked upon well.
[ There's a small pause. More thoughts coming to mind before he goes finally asks; ]
How...how are elves and half elves treated where you're from?
I mean, it was different where I grew up. The Ashari are an insular society. No one judged you for who you wanted to marry or have children with.
For the rest of the world, though, well. Humans seem pretty accepting of half-elves for the most part. No one in Emon ever really batted an eye at me, or my friends Vax and Vex. But they grew up in an elven city, and they weren't treated very well there.
[ So even in other worlds it sounded like half elves didn't have easy like elves did in his. ]
I'm sorry to hear that about your friends, but, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. People tend to be cruel to those they view as inferior based on race. [ He sighs a little. He supposes he shouldn't be surprised.
But he thinks for a moment on how Keyleth mentioned elves treated her half elven friends poorly... ]
I want you to know Keyleth that no matter your race I would never treat you poorly.
Unless you decided to go blowing up buildings filled with innocent people, than we'd have words.
Yeah, it was rough for them. I never understood why. I mean, I know elves view a lot of other races as children, just because they don't live as long, but to treat your own children so poorly for something they can't help, it's just...I don't get it.
[ There's a very quiet sigh of relief, and a faint smile in her voice. ]
That's a deal. For the record I try really hard to only kill people who deserve it.
